I’ve said this before on Pure Fandom, and that’s because I’ve told anyone who will listen: Black Panther is the breakout star of Captain America: Civil War. As a result, T’Challa’s February 2018 movie has become highly-anticipated, to say the least.
Additionally, Black Panther has gotten even more fandom from his newest comic book series. Issue #2 has a brand new video attached to get fans excited, titled “Black Panther: A Nation Under Our Feet – Part Two.” You can check that out right here!

The track you hear accompanying the video is brand new as well, from Prodigy of Mobb Deep, titled “Beast With It.”
“I am honored to be a part of another cool project from Marvel Comics and this new video series is going to be a smash,” Prodigy of Mobb Deep said about his involvement.
A new video will be released monthly as part of the Black Panther series, recapping and chronicling the comic books.
Black Panther #1, written by The Atlantic national correspondent and National Book Award winner, Ta-Nehisi Coates, accompanied with outstanding art by Brian Stelfreeze, garnered international buzz and attention upon the announcement of the series in 2015. It also debuted as the best-selling comic for the month of April, and is on track to be one of the best-selling comics of 2016.
I have a few thoughts to go with this exciting announcement from Marvel. First, it looks like the comic book conglomerate is trying to blend its world with the hip-hop world, and I think this is the perfect opportunity to do so. It could be the door opening to a new and expansive fanbase for Marvel. Second, I wonder how much of the comic book (and video) series will give us a sneak peek into the 2018 movie people are clamoring for. Even if it’s just a little bit, there’s plenty to get excited about if you’re the Black Panther (or one of his fans).
